We read every message and fix confirmed errors quickly.

Email is the only way to reach us. RelocateMath is a small independent site with no phone line or public office, and because the site is static there is no contact form: write to the address above from your own email program. We usually reply within 2–3 business days; a reported error can take longer if it needs checking against a new government release.

Report a wrong figure

This is the most useful message you can send. To help us find and check it quickly, please include:

The page address (copy it from your browser's address bar). If you ran a calculator, the full address with the numbers in it lets us see exactly what you saw.
The number you think is wrong, and what you expected instead.
Your source, ideally a link to the official agency: a state revenue department, the IRS, the Census Bureau, a state motor vehicle agency.

We check every report against the original source. When it is confirmed, the figure is fixed on every page that uses it, and the change is listed with its date in our corrections log. If we disagree, we reply and explain why. How we choose sources and handle corrections is set out in our editorial policy.

Questions about our data or methods

If you want to know how a result was calculated, start with the methodology, which documents each formula and data source, and the notes under each calculator. If something is still unclear, or you think an assumption is wrong for your situation, email us and name the page. These questions often lead to clearer explanations on the site.

Press and data requests

Journalists, researchers and bloggers are welcome to quote our figures with a link to the page they came from. If you need a figure explained, a table in a different form, or a note on how recent a number is, email us with your deadline. Most of our data comes from public government sources that we name on each page, and in many cases the original release will be the better citation.

Partnerships

We are open to hearing from companies whose products help people move, such as movers, container companies, car shippers and insurers. Any paid placement is labelled “Sponsored” and never changes an estimate, ranking or table; see how the site is funded. We don't sell links, publish paid guest posts or accept payment for rankings.

What we can't help with

Personal tax advice. We can't tell you how to file, whether you owe a particular state, or how a rule applies to your own income. For that, see a CPA or an IRS Enrolled Agent (EA), or contact your state revenue department.
Legal, financial or insurance advice. Our calculators give planning estimates only; see our disclaimer.
Moving services. We don't sell, book or broker moves, and we can't look up a mover's license or settle a dispute. The FMCSA handles interstate movers and your state's consumer protection office handles local ones.
Government records. We can't check the status of a tax refund, a driver license or a vehicle registration; only the agency itself can.
